Symptoms and Causes of Stomach Aches
Often times, stomach pains are innocuous conditions caused by indigestion, overeating, or stomach acid reflux. Frequently or recurring sharp chest pain is frequently caused by worry and stress, especially in child custody cases. However, these pains can also be the result of serious health issues that can cause death if not properly diagnosed and treated.
What Are The Common Causes?
Some of the common causes of stomach aches and discomfort are acid reflux, gout, gallstones, ulcerative colitis, and diverticulitis. These disorders can be painful and uncomfortable. Although the causes of stomach aches may differ from person to person, they all result from an overproduction of gastric acid in the body. This acid then refluxes into the oesophagus and the stomach. These conditions can also cause severe pain and discomfort in the stomach as the stomach acids enter the oesophagus.
Some of the symptoms associated with acid reflux and gallstones include nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain and cramps, and chronic digestive system disease. Ulcerative colitis occurs when the intestines become infected and result in ulcers. These ulcers can be very painful and can sometimes be accompanied by fever and abdominal discomfort. Diverticulitis occurs when a small intestine becomes infected, causing a blockage.
What Should I do?
Symptoms of the above-mentioned conditions should not be ignored. If you have a sharp pain in your abdomen or feel like you are having heartburn, then you should see your doctor immediately. You should seek medical attention immediately if you do not experience relief after three days. You should also consult your physician about heartburn if you experience severe pain, abdominal cramping, and difficulty swallowing. Although these conditions can be deadly if not treated immediately, they are relatively non-threatening. In fact, some of them are treatable with over-the-counter medications.
If you suspect you may be experiencing stomach ache that is painful and uncomfortable, it is important to first determine what causes it. Most cases of stomach aches are caused by digestive disorders. If you are having a sudden pain in your abdomen, you should consider seeing a doctor. Because stomach aches can be the result of digestive disorders, the diagnosis is usually made by asking you questions such as how long the pain has been occurring, and where the pain is located. Sometimes doctors will also take x-rays of the stomach to find out what is causing the pain.
Heartburn and indigestion are treatable and don’t always need medical attention. However, if you are experiencing pain that cannot be relieved, you should immediately see your doctor. This way he or she will be able to diagnose the problem and make the necessary treatment or modifications.
